Sacrifice everything to appease the Outsiders, and gain previously unheard of things.
Transcendence is basically a super-Ascension; but in addition to sacrificing your Gold, Hero levels, Relics, and zone progress, you also sacrifice Ancients, Hero Souls, and Gilds (except gilds purchased with Rubies which you'll gradually earn back). In exchange, you receive Ancient Souls (which is based on the total amount of Hero Souls sacrificed) and Transcendent Power. Transcendence becomes available after defeating Woodchip, the Rodent (boss of zone 300).
You can choose to respec when you transcend: simply tick the "Respec on Transcension" when you transcend. Unlike Hero Souls, all Ancient Souls are earned back when respeccing. It is always recommended to Respec on Transcension. This makes it easier to level Outsiders, and fix mistakes.
Mercenaries will be locked immediately post-transcendence, but will be kept in store "as-is" and unlock at the normal time (level 139 or after one Ascension) and remain just as they were when you left them. On mobile, however, Mercenaries will still be available post-trancendence. Purchased gilds are only temporarily lost: you regain 5% of them every time you earn a gild normally.
Transcendence does not replace Ascension: each Transcendence cycle is worth and will require several Ascension cycles, increasing as your Transcendence rewards do.

Transcendent Power[]
Transcendent Power increases the Hero Souls dropped by Primal Bosses. Each Ancient Soul earned is worth a tiny bit of Transcendent Power.
This indicates that the maximum transcendent power is 25%.
Here is a table for how much Transcendent Power you will have from x Ancient Souls:
AS | TP | AS | TP | AS | TP | AS | TP | AS | TP |

Every point in Transcendent Power gives a bonus to the number of Hero Souls dropped, beginning with level 105, for which the boss gives 20 (× Ponyboy effect × TP%) extra Hero Souls if it is Primal. For every subsequent boss, this value is multiplied by TP. This gives the formula:
Strategy[]
- Outsiders should be leveled accordingly to the outsider calculator. Note: Orphalas is a bad outsider and should be disabled in the settings.
- Transcend after 3-4 ascensions that gain new Ancient Souls.
- Once you've reached to peak of your Transcendent Power it is recommended to Transcend as soon as start consistently encountering 3 or more Monsters per zone.
Other Changes[]
Immortal Damage[]
While Hero Souls count is reset — and with it the player's Hero Souls reward cap from defeating an Immortal — Immortal damage isn't reset. Therefore, the player's value to their clan isn't diminished by transcending. The sole thing that happens regarding clans is the fact that the "Highest Zone Ever" value does freeze for a while, until the player once again reaches that zone. Similarly, the new Immortal damage or level does not reset upon Transcending either. All damage is retained.
Gains and Losses[]
Keep in mind what will happen after every Transcendence:

Notes[]
- Transcendence was introduced in patch 1.0.
- During the same patch, the formula for the HP of the monsters changed. Past level 500, the HP of monsters is so high that players are encouraged to transcend for their first time, although they should have done that 200 zones ago.
- Even if you make it past level 501 pre-transcendence, the HP of monsters rise about x1000 times that force player to transcend.
- On Mobile version, the background of transcendence is same as the map "Astral Rift".
- There are 9 Outsiders, that you can scroll through in the scrolling page to put your ancient souls in after transcendence.
- Prior to patch 1.10, there was such a thing as a Primal Soul Cap. The cap was calculated by whatever 5% of the maximum Hero Souls sacrificed during Transcension. The best way to increase it was by playing more and leveling Borb.
- It was removed in Patch 1.10 and has no replacement.
